Sumer and Andrew are a married duo that are quickly becoming the falafel experts of Southern California. As the founders of Mid East Eats, they’re serving up vegan Middle Eastern treats, with their falafel leading the charge.
Inspired by the vibrant street food of Palestine, Sumer wanted to perfect a moist and flavorful falafel. “In my fathers childhood village, there was an older gentlemen who would sell freshly fried herby falafel from his garage.” Sumer says, “They were moist on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and he would sprinkle them with a hint of salt after frying. They were divine! No one knows how to make moist, green falafel in Los Angeles, so I decided to take matters into my own hands!” And thus, their flavorful journey began.
Mid East Eats is the only Palestinian home restaurant (MEHKO) PERMITTED by the LA County Health Department.
